“A day in the life of a Babysitter” By Tarina
On my chosen days to work I am always listening out to the sound of my phone receiving a message. I get excited when a message comes in. I check it and there it is from Cherished Cherubs asking if I can work eg: tonight/tomorrow? I get excited and text back “yes please”. They say ta and we’ll send you the email through.
Once receiving the email a million thoughts go through my head. What games can I play with the children? What can I do to make the children happy, and enjoy my company? What toys can I put in my goodie bag? Should I take a book, jigsaw, cuddly toys, stickers etc? Once I am all organised I just do a quick check through my babysitting file. I have my printed email on my clipboard and I am set to go.
I arrive at the babysitting job with a good 10 mins spare. I greet the parents at the front door with “Hi I am Tarina the babysitter from Cherished Cherubs how are you?” I then approach the children and say “Hi you must be ….. I am pleased to meet you and we are going to have fun tonight. Most of my babysitting jobs go for a longer time as the parents are happy with me looking after their children and I don’t mind at all staying longer.
Once parents come back home I brief them on what we got up to during the night. We have a chat and then they pay me and I go home happy knowing that I helped a family out. I eagerly await my next job as I love children and I love babysitting!
